Mulenga Hope Foundation International (MHFI) is a USA based nonprofit organization with tax exempt status. It runs soccer and currently introducing baseball programs to vulnerable kids in various parts of Africa; now working in Zambia. The Sports Academy is using soccer and baseball to train, equip, mentor & empower kids (boys and girls) from communities stricken by abject Poverty in Zambia, Africa. We teach our participants valuable life skills, such as respect, communication, and teamwork that has benefited them greatly both on and off the field.

It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair. It is more powerful than government in breaking down racial barriers."
Our sports academy has been able to impact kids from troubled backgrounds, helping them learn to integrate peacefully with others. We have seen an improvement in behavior and their performance both on the soccer field and in their schools. We ensure that our players do not only play soccer but concentrate more on schoolwork. We consistently follow up and check their performance in school. Our approach has so far proven fruitful and has kept many kids off of the streets and out of trouble. We are breaking the odds and negative cycles of thinking about education. In Africa, many times, kids who are very talented at sports in general believe that education is just an option. They would rather choose athletics over education. At MHFI, we are teaching our players to find a balance and learn to accommodate both sport participation and education. We cover age group 10 -20 years. In Zambia, Africa, children have no access to safe playgrounds. At our program, hundreds of young athletes share a small, rocky, and uneven field — far from ideal, but it’s all they have to chase their dreams. Despite the challenges, their passion is unwavering. Many of our players walk over an hour every day, year after year, just to train on this rough open ground. On rare occasions, they get to practice on what we call a “special” mini soccer pitch — a small, shared space that’s shown in one of the videos above. Even then, dozens of kids line up daily, patiently waiting for their turn to play. Their dedication inspires us. Our dream is to build a proper, dedicated sports field — a safe, spacious environment where every child can play, train, and grow without limitations. With your support, we can make this dream a reality and give these incredible kids the opportunity — and the field — they truly deserve.
